Steve is the founder of Morton Wealth Management, LLC in Greensboro, North Carolina. Steve is the principal advisor for our firm, and his credentials and experience allow him to advise our clients on all aspects of wealth management. With over 30 years of experience, his diverse background in financial services gives him the ability to see issues from many perspectives. Steve helps our clients primarily with the transition of retirement including both financial and non-financial concerns.

Jonathan Stoller

Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Jonathan has worked as a financial advisor for high net-worth clients for over 25 years. He joined the firm in 1988, the year he received his CFP®. Jonathan’s unique approach focuses on listening to and understanding the needs, hopes and desires of his clients. He is also a founder and principal of TAO Management, a firm specializing in working with clientele from the entertainment industry. Jonathan serves clients primarily in Los Angeles and New York City. 

Matthew H. Johnson

Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina

Matt is a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner and Portfolio Manager at Morton Wealth Management, LLC.  He began his career in 2008 as a dually registered representative of a Broker-Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor.  Matt joined our firm in 2010. He utilizes innovative investment strategies and planning tools to assist clients in reaching their goals.  He also serves on our investment committee where he heads investment research and manager due diligence.

Nathaniel joined our firm in 2013 after working as a financial planner for a not-for-profit, Fortune 500 financial services organization. He is passionate about helping individuals and families make wise decisions in their financial lives through comprehensive financial planning. He particularly enjoys working with individuals who are transitioning into retirement.  Nathaniel serves in numerous analytical capacities for our firm, including being a member of the investment management team.

Walter E. Abele

Walt worked as an advisor with a Fortune 100 financial services firm before joining us in May 2017. Walt feels strongly that making the most efficient recommendations requires having a holistic understanding of the client’s situation, so he is a proponent of comprehensive financial planning. Prior to entering financial services, Walt was a company president in food service distribution, so he contributes business process and planning acumen to the team.

Edie York joined our firm in 2016 as the Director of Operations. Her many responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day running of the firm at the administrative, financial and human resources levels. Most recently, Edie served as the Senior Director of Finance and Administration for an Executive Search Firm. She brings with her a wealth of experience in office management and reporting to our firm.

Emily Petrini

Emily joined Morton in 2016 as a Client Service Representative. She has worked in client services in a variety of fields for the past four years and is passionate about building relationships with clients. Most recently, she oversaw all customer service and marketing at a local publishing house.

She is a Greensboro native and lives here with her husband and daughter. In her spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.

Anne Beckwith

High Point University – High Point, North Carolina
Currently attending UNCG and studying Accounting – Greensboro, NC

Anne joined our firm in 2014 as a Client Service Representative. Anne brings with her a wealth of customer service experience and computer skills. Most recently, she served as Supervisor of Operations in the retail division of Cost Plus World Market, where she managed and trained a team of 40 store associates. She also has sales and reception experience in the retail and medical industries.
Anne is originally from Massachusetts. She currently lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Susan Barnes

Wilson County Community College - Wilson, North Carolina

Susan joined our firm in 2015 as an Office Administrator. Susan's history includes experience in the fields of business, religious non-profit, and legal. Most recently, she served as Administrative Assistant at one of the local churches here in Greensboro. She brings a wide variety of computer skills, database management, and multi-media experience to our firm.
